I walk through corridors of glass i wander still no truth that I can see pillars made from the hands of strangers mother take my eyes from me take them on the wings of the bird who sings from the old blind tree pull them down to the river the crippled forgot runs beneath it is done it is done so through the glow through the show there's nothing left I want from this give it up raise your cups there's nothing left I want like a knife through the water a knife through the water the dreamer sleeps an afternoon slumber the thief walks in the shameful light the sea will carry our ghosts and heroes mother take my eyes from me it is done it is done so through the glow through the show there's nothing left I want from this give it up raise your cups there's nothing left I want like a knife through the water a knife through the water it is done it is done like a knife through the water a knife through the water

about

After the international success of their EP Mannequins, rock band MONSTER CAT releases their radical full-length record The Violet Hour. Produced by Tim Carr (Matt Corby, Flea, Mark Ronson) at the famed Studios 301 in Sydney (Kanye West, Lady Gaga, Jay-Z), The Violet Hour boasts 13 tracks that fuse the worlds of organic and synthetic sounds in the mold of Radiohead, St. Vincent and Atoms For Peace.

Lushly layered and full of fresh, exotic sounds, The Violet Hour is hard to pin down. Despite drawing from a host of genres, the record focuses on creating intense, melodic rock songs while keeping the band’s trademark vocal harmonies. The result is an exciting and emotional sonic trip, that aims to give the listener new perspectives on the rock paradigm.
